IN MEMORY OF İDRİS YAMANTÜRK

He was born in 1928 in Çamlıhemşin - ORTAN village of Rize province. Due to the conditions of the region, he was able to start primary school late. His father died when he was 10 years old. After primary school, he had to take a break for a year because he could not find a school. Then, he attended Hopa Secondary School. After the 2nd grade, he won the civil exam and went to Erzurum High School as a public boarding school. He graduated from Erzurum High School in 1945-1946 and entered Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He graduated from ITU in 1952 as an Senior Electrical Engineer. He completed his education at the faculty by receiving a scholarship from Sümerbank, which operates as an industrial holding company. He started his career in the last year of university.

Between 1952-1953, he served as an "operation engineer" in various fields of Çatalağzı (Zonguldak) Thermal Power Plant affiliated to Etibank. He completed his 18 month Reserve Officer service from the autumn of 1953. After his military service, he took permission from the state and worked in the private sector again. In 1955, he married Türkan Danışoğlu from the village of Çinçiva (Şenyuva) in Çamlıhemsin, Rize. He has two sons named Tevfik Yamantürk and Müşfik Hamdi Yamantürk. He resigned from the state in 1956 and started his freelance career.
In 1957, he established his personal company under the name of İdris Yamantürk.

He established the GÜRİŞ company in 1958.

GÜRİŞ, since then;

  • He carried out more than 100 works in Turkey and abroad, especially Schools Donated to the State.

While working actively at the age of 96, Mr. İdris Yamantürk passed away on February 12, 2021.
